Buffalo Wild Wings

It’s all about the Mango Habanero sauce. It’s almost too hot to handle. But it’s also sweet. That sweet and spicy marriage is a zinger in my mouth every time.

Date Night, Wing Night

My husband and I just had our first date since the baby was born. I am talking about babysitters, make-up, leave the diaper bag at home kind of fun. Where did we decide to go? Buffalo Wild Wings.

Buffalo Wild Wings was the perfect choice because no reservation was necessary. It was casual, so we didn’t have to dress up (but we could still look sassy and spit-up free). We wouldn’t get stuck with our heads in our phoness because there are a million tvs everywhere, so we can talk and enjoy entertainment paralysis. Also, there’s the food.

Too Hot to Handle?

I often order 6 Mango Habanero traditional wings, a side of fries, and a diet coke (or beer). It’s a pretty hot order, so on days I can’t hang I just get medium buffalo wings.

I cross my fingers and hope for drum sticks, although I will eat any of their chicken as long as it’s doused in sauce.

Now I have tried their hottest Blazin wings, and usually I can barely finish 3. They’re straight skoville scary. Those are good for days when you are feeling down in the dumps. When you need a shock back to life.

The hot buffalo is a pretty good in between. And it’s not one of those ones that just tastes like vinegar or louisiana hot sauce. I order the wings wet and just hope there’s a pool of sauce in the bottom of my wing boat.

When it comes to wings, leave the dry rub at home.

Parmesan & Parenting

My Buffalo Wild Wings post-baby date was pretty great. I discovered a new yummy sauce – Parmesan Garlic! It’s creamy, peppery and garlicy. We played trivia through the app. We had $3 beers and left full.

Instead of baby cries, we’d spent the evening enjoying the cacophany of sports on tv (including ice skating!) and the clutter and clang of servers. It was a delightful change of pace, though by the end we were truly missing out little girl.
