Salon 210 with Jennifer

I felt the seasons changing, and I knew it was time.

Time for a hair change and time to continue my search for the perfect stylist.

Googling Salons Near My House

I'd moved to St. Augustine, and I didn't want to have to drive to far. I liked my visit to Willow Aveda, but I didn't love it. The same went for Hello, Lovely. Ashley Cowart's Salon wasn't there anymore - another item to add to the RIP closed business list.

The need to change my hair came on fast this time and I didn't want to wait. My goals? Affordable. Color, in the form of highlights. And soon. I also wanted to book online. With the sky as the limit from there, I looked at places near my house with availability to schedule online and decent prices.

BINGO! I found Salon 210, and Jennifer Deloach had availability. Time to go somewhere new!

Same Week, Salon 210

I was able to schedule with Salon 210, and scroll through the cost and availability of their stylist. I was playing Russian Roulette with my hair once again, but that was the risk of wanting a hair appointment soon, close, and affordable. I was gambling a bit beyond the Hair Cuttery/Supercuts assembly line style of hair caure.

Jennifer was my stylist. The salon had laidback vibes with cute, homey decor. There was a sweet pup named Gucci trotting around. As I got comfortable in my salon chair, friendly stylists caught up and clutched their morning beverage cups. My stylist was from NYC, and asked me specific questions about what kind of highlights I wanted (chunky blonde), where I wanted them (partial, crown), and whether I normally opted for toner (no, thank you, I try to save$$). I gave my answers, shared some pics, and we proceeded.

While my hair was lifting, her next client showed up. She had me slightly awkwardly wait in the reception area while she gave a man a quick haircut. I waited, feeling slightly disappointed at the lack of mindless magazines - No Self, Seventeen, Vogue, or Glamour. Fortunately, there was Harper's Bazaar, so I could catch up on Paris Hilton's latest. Who knew Paris was mom!

The Result?

I did the face framing height lights - 8 foils but, I think she gave me a few extra. Saved around $60 by skipping toner and a blow dry. I asked for thick highlights, and they looked a bit skinny, but the stylist showed me how they were actually thick. She was probably right. She didn't show me my hair automatically at the end. I had to ask, but I did like what I saw for the price I paid.

In the end, I got a look I like, but the search for the perfect stylist continues.
